Stratford Paramedic Recognized by Bridgeport Hospital

“EMS Provider of the Year”

STRATFORD – May 19, 2020: During times of tribulation, heroes emerge.  Stratford Full Time Paramedic Alex Lenches has been recognized today by Bridgeport Hospital as the “EMS Provider of the Year“.  In a ceremony at the Bridgeport Hospital Emergency Department, EMS Coordinator Wesley Young, presented the award along with Hospital Emergency Department Representatives.

The EMS Provider of the Year award was established to recognize a provider that consistently demonstrates the highest levels of professionalism and patient care to his/her patients throughout the previous year. 

Alex is a full time paramedic with Stratford EMS (SEMS). He also works as a paramedic for Valley EMS (VEMS) and AMR-Bridgeport. Alex executes his duties with distinction and always maintains the highest standards in clinical excellence, with the highest degree of professionalism that these EMS services demand.

Alex has demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism with all members of healthcare and public safety teams and we consistently receive feedback on his positive attitude and skill level from staff members and patients alike.   In Stratford, Alex began his career in the Stratford EMS Explorer Post 4911 where he held the youth positions of Lieutenant, Captain and Chief of the Explorer Post.  Alex has risen through the ranks, currently holding the position of Full Time Paramedic and was part of the recent paramedic program expansion.  Alex has received the “Volunteer of the Year 2013”; “Rookie of the Year 2013” and “Most Valued Provider 2019” recognition awards from SEMS.  Alex has also received the following recognition in the past:

  • Clinical Excellence Award – Bridgeport Hospital 2018
  • Clinical Recognition Award – Bridgeport Hospital 2018
  • 1st Place AMR National Rodeo competition 2017
-Alex has achieved multiple service citations for storm response, large scale incidents and clinical practice awards, such as STEMI saves at SEMS.
