Continuing Medical Education (CME)

Stratford EMS Training & Education center is proud to offer a wide range of continuing medical education (CME) courses that meet or exceed National Registry requirements.  Courses are held at our main headquarters facility and are typically two (2) hours in length. CME courses are offered at no charge.

Description: Stratford EMS offers multiple opportunities for providers to learn new skills while maintaining current competencies. Through our EMSTEC, providers can participate in continuing education, professional development, and skills retention courses.

The nature of emergency medicine services is such that providers need to maintain critical skills that may not be utilized frequently in the field. On scene, there is no room for error or time to regain comfort with a particular skill; providers must be able to respond quickly, accurately, and efficiently, no matter what type of emergency they encounter. To address this need, our EMSTEC uses the “H.A.L.O.” training system, a High Acuity Low Occurrence training program that offers providers up to four opportunities a year to work on skills retention. In addition to maintaining competency, H.A.L.O. sometimes introduces new technologies, skills, or equipment.

Every month, EMSTEC instructors present continuing education aimed at meeting or exceeding local and national requirements for medical control authorization and renewing credentials

Location: Stratford EMS Headquarters, 2712 Main Street, Stratford, CT  06615

Cost: CME Courses are currently offered at no cost and include CME credit toward medical control renewal and National Registry recertification
