This 2 hour CME (NCCR) session, provided by St. Vincent’s Medical Center ED staff, will review capnography principles, technology and clinical application for EMS field personnel.

Capnography, the monitoring of ETCO2 and capnographic waveform is used in the EMS field environment for many clinical issues. This presentation will describe the various indicators for CO2 monitoring and the physiology of ventilation-perfusion relationships. Describe the aspects of the normal capnogram, clinical interpretation of ETCO2 values, analyzing the capnogram and appropriate clinical interventions.
